And so it begins....

  So as I sit here creating this blog I realize that I seriously have no idea what I am doing. I mean who on earth wants to read a blog about a day in the life of Rowan, John and Jessica Baum?? Well I'll start with the title. Obviously it is a very common phrase. And I can assure you that I have heard it said in many jokes made at my husband's or my expense. 


  Baum is a German name, meaning tree. Which brings me to my next point. 

  We named our beautiful baby boy Rowan Asher Baum. Rowan is a type of tree. Ash is a type of tree. And Baum means tree. I honestly did NOT realize this when I picked his name, but I like it. It sounds completely cliched but he has rooted us so deep in our little family that it feels like we always were and will forever be family. Another interesting fact about little bit: his initials. RAB. Who is their right mind wants their son being stuck with a Harry Potter moniker?? Well that would be John and I. We are dyed in the wool nerds. I'm talking Star Wars, Star Trek, Dr. Who, Harry Potter, dragons, fairies, book hoarder kind of nerds. And I would have it no other way. 


  I LOVE my life. I am a nursing student. John works for a government contractor. We don't make enough money, but we get by. We live in a small town in Texas. And I wouldn't have it any other way.... ♥
